WebNov 19, 2003 · Mind you, it was the large demag that we use on the 2" machine, but I'm sure any would work. Not erasing correctly makes me think of 2 deeper things though. The simple one is erase head alignment. Make sure that the head fully touches the tape and is as perpendicular to it as you can. This was one of the problems on the unit I was working on.
