BUT if you can master them, they really do sound great. Growly, punchy are a few words that come to mind. Rosewood necks are easier to play IMO. However, feelwise, it's the same to me as rosewood. Seems to be a little more open grained. Appearance wise it's quite a bit lighter than rosewood, but evenly coloured.
