Don't use anything below 120 grit on actual plaster, it will scratch it and show through. WebMake sure you wait at least a week before you paint to avoid any trapped moisture which will lead to mould. Even if it looks dry paster can take a few weeks to completely dry out. You need to do a "mist coat", water down your chosen paint 50:50, and apply that to the fresh plaster, with for it to dry, then paint it with undiluted paint as normal.
